29th Annual Vision Scholarship Award 2023
 
The Vision Scholarship Award of Arumdaun Presbyterian Church was established in 1994. The scholarship originated from the prayers and loving hearts of the Arumdaun congregation to foster and develop spiritual leaders for the second generation of the Korean-American Church by providing a scholarship to those with the vision of serving in Education Ministry in the KoreanAmerican Church. 
 
Eligibility Requirements
The applicant must be a Korean or Korean-American Christian who will be attending seminary during the 2023-2024 academic year, either as a new or continuing student with the following criteria:
 
1. Attend an accredited seminary in US as a full-time student (minimum of 9 credits per semester).
2. Enrolled in a graduate program, including, but not limited to, MDiv, ThM, MA or PhD.
3. Has a vision for serving in Education Ministry in the Korean-American Church.
4. The current or previous Vision Scholarship recipients cannot reapply.

Application Materials

3. Vision essay: personal essay stating your vision as a Christian leader (the essay must be typed on letter-size paper, double-spaced, 12-point font, 1-inch margin all around, and should be 1-2 pages long). Topics may include, but not limited to, How has God called you to be a pastor?
How has God called you into ministry? How are you on that path?
4. Ministry plan: 1 paragraph-long writing about your spiritual gifts, type of work you feel called to, and your sense of call to the Korean-American Church. Should be typed directly on the online application form.
5. Letter of recommendation from a pastor
6. Letter of recommendation from a professor
7. Official transcript
8. Tuition bill (or acceptance letter) from applicant’s seminary

Selection of the Vision Scholarship Award Recipients
The total four (4) recipients of the Vision Scholarship Award shall be selected and notified upon review of the completed application package (including all of the above-requested materials) and an interview of the candidate by the Vision Scholarship Committee.
 
Distribution of the Vision Scholarship Award
The selected recipients will receive a one time award of Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000) in accordance with the rules and regulations established by the Vision Scholarship Committee.

Application Window
June 1st - 26th, 2023. All applications and required materials should be submitted by 11:59 pm on June 26th, 2023 (Monday) for full consideration.
 
Announcement of the Vision Scholarship Award
The recipients of the Vision Scholarship Award shall be notified individually on or before August 7th, 2023.
 
Vision Scholarship Award Ceremony and Networking Event for Scholarship Recipients The Vision Scholarship Award Ceremony and the Networking Event for Scholarship Recipients will be held in person at Arumdaun Presbyterian Church on September 8th – 9th (Fri-Sat). All the expenses related to attending the ceremony and the networking event, such as those for travel, lodging, and meals, will be covered by the Arumdaun Presbyterian Church. All recipients MUST attend the ceremony and the networking event.
 
Paid Internship Opportunity at Arumdaun Presbyterian Church
Interested Scholarship Recipients will be provided with a paid internship position at Arumdaun Presbyterian Church.

29차 2023년도 비전 장학생 선발
 
아름다운교회 비전 장학금은 아름다운교회 교인들의 기도와 사랑 가운데 1994년도에 설립되어, Korean-American 교회에서 교육부 사역에 비전을 가지고 있는 신학생들에게 장학금을 수여하고, 나아가 Korean-American 교회의 차세대들을 위한 영적 지도자들을 발굴하고 후원하는데 그 목적이 있습니다. 
 
자격 요건
비전 장학금 신청자는 Korean 또는 Korean-American 크리스찬으로서,  2023-2024년도 신학교 재학생 (2023년 가을 학기 입학 포함)으로 다음의 기준들을 충족하여야 함. 
 
1. 미국내 정규 신학교 재학중인 full-time 신학생 (학기당 최소 9학점 등록). 
2. 신학교 대학원 학위 과정 등록자 (예, MDiv, ThM, MA and PhD).
3. 미국내 한국 교회에서 교육부 사역에 비전을 가진 자. 
4. 현재 혹은 과거 비전 장학금 수여자는 재지원 불가.

장학생 선발 비전 장학회의 서류 심사 및 인터뷰를 거쳐 총 4명의 비전 장학생 선발  장학금 금액 비전 장학회 지침에 따라 일회에 한해 $3,000불 지급.

심사 결과 발표  선정된 장학생들에게는 2023년 8월 7일까지 개별 연락. 
 
장학금 수여식 및 장학생 네트워킹 행사
장학금 수여식과 장학생 네트워킹 행사는 9월 8-9 일 (금-토) 아름다운교회에서 대면 방식으로 개최. 장학금 수여식과 장학생 네트워킹 행사에 참여하는데 필요한 모든 경비 (교통, 숙박, 음식
등)은 아름다운교회에서 부담. 선정된 장학생들은 장학금 수여식과 장학생 네트워킹 행사에 참여 필수.
