SUHMOON PRESBYERIAN CHURCH (KAPC) YOUTH PASTOR/EM COLLEGE PASTOR Full Time

RESPONSIBILITIES

➢ GENERAL
○ Collaborates with EM &Youth Pastor, and KM Staff
○ Attends weekly pastoral staff meeting
○ Ministers to approx. 10 youth students and 15 college students
○ The church is located in Garden Grove. CA

➢ YOUTH MINISTRY-GENERAL
○ Oversees all aspects of youth ministry and administrative needs
○ Plans and leads weekly worship and Bible study on Sundays and Fridays
○ Prepares and gives Sunday and Friday messages
○ Works with Education Director to train teachers and volunteers
○ Teaches and mentors middle/high school students at appropriate levels
○ Communicates regularly with youth students’ parents through PTA meetings,
newsletters, and meetings, etc.
○ Develops after church youth programs

➢ YOUTH MINISTRY-SPECIAL EVENTS
○ Plans and leads youth outings, retreats, volunteer events, and mission trips
○ Plans and executes winter and summer retreats

➢ EM & COLLEGE MINISTRY
○ Organizes weekly college student gathering after Sunday worship or midweek
○ Equips and trains college ministry leadership team to plan retreats, conferences,
lecture series, and gatherings
○ Works with college ministry leadership and EM pastor to discern the spiritual
needs of the college students and creative ways to meet those needs
○ Builds relationships with college students and supports them as they transition to
life in the church after youth group
○ Visits with college students regularly on campus during the week
○ Meets and encourages recent high school graduates

HOURS AND COMPENSATION
➢ Full Time Position
➢ Salary: $40,000- $45,000/year (negotiable)
➢ Benefits: Medical insurance and Housing allowance are included

QUALIFICATIONS TO APPLY
➢ A US citizen or permanent resident in good standing
➢ Fluency in English is required. Korean is a plus.
➢ Commits to minimum 3 years of ministry at Korean Christian Church

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS
➢ Master of Divinity (M.Div) or equivalent degree (Reformed schools preferred)
➢ Minimum of two years of experience in youth ministry in any capacity
➢ Experience with leading and equipping teams in church settings
